Management Bev Merchant
Head of Clearing and Settlements Bev has worked in the financial industry for most of her career. This has encompassed all aspects of the back office for stockbrokers, institutions and fund managers covering domestic and international markets for equities, fixed interest, futures and options. In 1993, Bev was Settlements Manager for Nomura Australia Limited and then joined Shaw in March 2000 as Head of Clearing and Settlements. Bev is responsible for the daily settlement of client transactions, Shaw's market obligations and works closely with Shaw's management and compliance teams to ensure that all regulatory changes are implemented. Bev manages a staff of 16 specialised personnel who are responsible for the day-to-day processing of client transactions.
