Simon was appointed to the Board in July 2012. Simon is Shaw's Deputy CEO.

Simon's experience in financial services law and the stockbroking industry spans 15 years. Simon joined Shaw in January 2004 as its Corporate Counsel before being promoted to General Counsel in 2006. In October 2009 Simon was appointed by Shaw's Board, to review and implement a restructure of the Company's strategy to improve its function, composition and profitability. In 2011 Simon was appointed Shaw's Deputy CEO managing, together with Allan Zion, all aspects of the Company's business. Simon holds a Masters of Laws from UNSW, specialising in Corporate and Commercial Law. He currently sits on the ASIC's Markets Disciplinary Panel and the ASX's Disciplinary Tribunal and Appeals Panel.
